12 things I’ve done on my copywriting break

  1. Gifted myself a little time & space to plan.

  2. Blogged for myself.

  3. Wrote blogs and case studies for a graphic designer pal.

  4. Luna lab and I walked 100 miles in October and raised £665 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Whoop, whoop, thank you everyone who donated!!

  5. Started discovering - on foot - the 222 square miles of the New Forest, learning about its trees, flowers, wildlife, buildings, history and characters. We spotted stags rutting and the does pretending not to be impressed this morning.

  6. Got into Audible: I’ve listened to Bob Mortimer read “The Satsuma Complex” - hilarious! David Attenborough read A Life on Our Planet - terrifying, inspiring, a true leveller (we HAVE to do more!) and Lucy Worsley’s Agatha Christie: An Elusive Woman - a fascinating take of social change.

Next up: Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World – and Why Things Are Better Than You Think.

  7. Made Tesco’s Nana’s Magic Soup - the boys came home late that night (on purpose!) but I can assure you it’s delish!

  8. Joined a choir! You’ll never hear me!

  9. Started my Trinity Grade IV Vocal coaching. I laugh a lot!

  10. Went to the London Palladium to see Richard E Grant talk about his heartfelt biography; A Pocketful of Happiness. We laughed, we cried, we ooh’d and we aaah’d.

  11. Expanded my record collection to include Taylor Swift and U2. Good teen creds.

  12. Caught up on all this year’s CopyCon (Copywriter’s Conference) talks. There’s still so much to learn!
