It’s why I write!

I’m going to be honest.

What I hate about copywriting is the “not knowing” if my writing has done the job or made a difference.

But today the writing gods shone and a client got in touch to share some good news…

“…..you know the story you wrote about one of the families we are supporting? We incorporated it in a mail pack to raise vital funds for the hospice and so far we’ve raised 40% over target….”

Now this hospice, the support, critical care and facilities they provide to the most seriously ill children and their families are predominantly (92%!!) funded by public support and donations. Without it they would not exist.

So the need for financial support is ever present.

But in terms of mail pack performance. This job’s a good’un!

The story I wrote tells a mother’s honest and heart-wrenching account of her son's condition and the challenges they face as a family every day.

And readers have reacted generously as a result.

I’m not alone in wanting my words to have a positive impact.

It’s a tricky - and often isolating - gig this copywriting lark, so when a client calls to say “it’s worked” - it means the world.

Thank you Julia’s House. 🙏
