You can't argue with results
I had a dream call yesterday.
One of my clients called to run through upcoming blog topics, case studies and new business stories but started the conversation with “can I just say a big THANK YOU for all the hard work you and Kate (my social media right hand gal) have been doing over the last few months. We’re seeing the dividends, with more enquiries than ever and a significant number of new projects booked in last week alone.”
Firstly, credit where credit’s due! They have been working so hard (like many others) throughout this crisis to apply their expertise (plastic injection moulding) to manufacture protective visors and face shields for our #nhsheroes on the frontline and have totally embraced the importance of talking about what they’re doing, giving me the privilege of writing about their great work and using those stories to increase awareness and get in front of partners, supply chains and key movers and shakers in their industry.
The result: they are now firmly at the table and the telephone is ringing.
The proof of great work is in the stats. The click-throughs to their website is up, well over 100% on the previous month, because of the content we’ve been posting and sharing via their strongest social networks, visitors spending longer on the website, browsing around, then calling and talking about what they’ve read.
If there was no content, there would be nothing to share. If the content wasn’t good quality, didn’t have relevant, informative links, keyword rich and wasn’t written in an engaging, interesting, credible way, it would undermine the client’s offering and the prospect’s perception of what it’s like to do business with them. Don’t forget typos and clunky grammar too - they do matter because (in my humble opinion) they make you look sloppy.
Couple of tips: It’s always worth one more proof read! Try proof reading it right to left for spelling and left to right for sense, that way your brain won’t fill in missing letters and words when you’re speed reading it.
Every single communication or connection with the customer reinforces perceived brand experience. Give the link a click if you’d like to see some of their/my work.
So, already on cloud 9, I then got an email from another client.
Thank you so much for the fantastic blog and for all your hard work! Again, give it a click if you’d like to see the latest blog they were referring to, promoting a new online support hub for superyacht crew.
I love writing but what I love more are happy clients. Thank you.
